WHITTIER – A woman died after experiencing a medical emergency while driving on a freeway in Whittier, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Louth.
The emergency began on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Whittier Boulevard around 11:40 p.m. Friday, the CHP said.
The woman managed to get out of her car and chest compression was performed, but she died at the scene.
The emergency forced the closure of all lanes on the 605 Freeway just north of Rose Hills Road around 12:35 a.m., the CHP reported. No other people were injured in the incident, Louth said.
The victim’s name and age were withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
