PICO RIVERA, Calif. – A pedestrian was killed Monday morning on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Pico Rivera.
The death occurred just after 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes at Rose Hills Road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig.
The name, age and gender of the pedestrian were not available, Kravig said. Details of the crash were also not available.
Video from the scene showed CHP officers investigating the death while a body lay in one lane under a yellow cover.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 3:22 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes in the area. The HOV lane was reopened to traffic at 4:20 a.m.

His name was Israel Hernandez he was 40 years old. He had attended an event at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena with his wife Sunday only to left behind by his wife in a state of intoxication. Since his wife claims she doesn’t remember anything about that night and no other way of knowing how he ended up in the freeway. His death was ruled by the police as an accident.
