The word on the street is not WILL but WHEN will Inglewood Mayor James Butts be indicted for high crimes and misdemeanors? Â

Mayor Butts has been smack dab in the middle of many dubious and downright nefarious business deals since becoming Mayor in 2011. He beat the drum about his “35+ years of law experience” as why voters should trust him, yet, a series of articles produced by 2UrbanGirls, Daily Breeze and the Los Angeles Times show those statements could be serious material falsehoods of the truth.
From covering up investigations while serving as Security Director of LAWA, irregularities of him indirectly benefitting from the trash contract with Republic Services aka Consolidated aka Pacific Coast & Waste and multiple complaints arriving in the mail addressed to the LA County District Attorney’s office, Mayor Butts could find himself in a courtroom under the title DEFENDANT.

2UrbanGirls has been made aware of multiple complaints levied against Mayor Butts, yet, public records requests directed to the LA County offices have not yielded any results. For context, 2UrbanGirls initiated a public records request on all complaints filed against Councilman Eloy Morales and we were provided a document that listed current complaints filed against him including conflict of interest with the trash contract he voted on. Any and all complaints against Mayor Butts are under lock and key.
2UrbanGirls will be releasing a series of articles, leading up to the November 9th election, related to digging deeper into lawsuits he is covering up related to Successor Agency property, pay to play with Inglewood businesses in exchange for campaign donations and a newly formed commission he has finagled a seat on tasked with playing intermediary to the State of California Department of Finance. Residents are also commenting on his drastic weight loss and whether its stress related to the increased scrutiny.
