It pays to have a relationship with Inglewood Mayor James Butts and his Executive Assistant Melanie McDade. A Facebook group moderator, who played a key role in the mayors re-election, was gifted a job, presumably at the Mayor’s behest, either via his assistant Melanie McDade or his other cheerleader Erick Holly.
Unable to hire Halimah Ginyard at the city of Inglewood, she has instead been hired at the Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce, where Melanie McDade serves as an Executive Board Member.
Chamber insiders share with 2UrbanGirls that she was hired as a “favor” to the mayor. She will assist with providing outreach to the chambers annual state of the city. Due to the chambers irregular hours of operations, 2UrbanGirls has been unable to reach Ginyard at her alleged new employment.
A review of Mayor Butts 2018 re-election campaign forms, showed no funds were paid out to Ginyard for her extensive outreach via her Facebook group on his campaigns behalf.
Regular 2UrbanGirls readers can recall last summer that then former members sent us a Letter to the Editor detailing how Mayor Butts usurped power from the members to install his own army of officers to closely monitor the inner dealings of the chamber.
The former members also claimed they alerted Mayor Butts to alleged theft of chamber funds by Erick Holly, whom they promptly fired and the Mayor forced them to rehire him.
2UrbanGirls attempted to reach out to Chamber Executive Director Erick Holly but was unsuccessful due to him having us blocked on social media channels.
