The city of Inglewood has had a change of heart in the claim filed by Los Angeles Councilman Curren Price Jr.’s wife Delbra Richardson-Price.
Last week 2UrbanGirls reported on a claim filed by the current Ms. Price in regards to health benefits provided to the spouse of retired Inglewood council members. In her claim Price stated the city stated they would reimburse her, then later reneged saying it would be considered “a gift of public funds”.

On the warrant register, due to be approved at the June 18th regular city council meeting, Ms. Price is set to receive a payment for reimbursement of retiree health benefits in the amount of $966.77.
It is unclear what changed in less than a week, but this could be a glimpse into why previous Inglewood city council members regularly voted NO when the warrant register was presented for their approval.
Price Jr. was on the Inglewood city council from 1993-1997 and again from 2001-2006 while legally married to Lynn Suzette Price. It is unclear exactly when that divorce became final and he officially married Delbra Richardson.
Why would the current Mrs. Price be entitled to benefits from Inglewood taxpayers?
