ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis police detective’s testimony in a Tennessee courtroom this week revealed new details in what authorities have described as a murder-for-hire plot to kill the grandson of reality TV star and Sweetie Pie’s owner Robbie Montgomery.
Detective Donald Thurmond gave testimony Wednesday in a virtual bail hearing for Terica Ellis, 36, of Memphis, one of three people accused in the March 2016 plot to kill 21-year-old Andre Montgomery Jr.
The victim’s uncle, James Timothy Norman, 41, is also charged with orchestrating the death. Norman and Andre Montgomery both appeared alongside family matriarch and soul food restaurant owner Robbie Montgomery in the reality show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” which ran for five seasons on OWN.
