Metro Fare Collection Resumes Jan 2022

By 2UrbanGirls on December 14, 2021 Transportation

LOS ANGELES – To keep Metro riders and our employees safe, we suspended front door boarding on our buses in March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We also relaxed our rules requiring riders to use the farebox and TAP validator.

With vaccinations well underway and mask wearing required on our system, we will resume front door boarding only and restart fare collection January 10, 2022.

We are working to make sure everyone knows about these changes well in advance and have an opportunity to learn about our Low Income Fare is Easy (LIFE) program.

We invite you to help us promote Metro’s LIFE Program by sharing the information with your stakeholders. Linked here  are collateral materials that can be added to weekly newsletters and posted on social media. They are sized for Facebook (FB), Instagram (IG) and Twitter in both English and Spanish. A “Quick Response” or QR code has been included in the folder saved online.

Metro is also hosting a series of pop-up events to encourage signing up for our LIFE program, The Source and  Pasajero have more information about dates, times, and locations.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email communityrelations@metro.net
