As the 2016 election season comes to a close, we are reminded the 2017 election season is right around the corner.  Many local cities will select new mayors, council members, city clerks, city attorney’s and school board members.  2 Urban Girls hopes to see familiar names returning to the ballot, along with some new faces, particularly in Inglewood.

Compton
Residents will select a new: Â mayor, city attorney, clerk, treasurer and Isaac Galvan and TanaMcCoy will fight to retain their seats. Despite being called a racist, by the #BreakingNews guru, Galvan has managed to smooth things over with the “chef” and earn his endorsement.
2 Urban Girls is hopeful that Omar Bradley will return to run for mayor and Eric Perrodin will consider running against Craig Cornball Cornwell for city attorney.
Inglewood
Council members Alex Padilla and George Dotson are up for re-election along with three seats being available on the Inglewood Unified Advisory Board:  Margaret Richards-Bowers, Dr. Carliss Richardson-McGhee and Melody Ngaue-Tuuholoak are all up.  Be on the lookout for a surprise challenger for one of these ladies.
