I’m writing you in response to your article regarding the Automated People mover, as I believe your article overly simplifies the issues regarding the project commonly referred to as the ” People Mover.
With that being said to “advocate” for the People mover to be built , while citing the “only” concern would be the displacement of residents and businesses along the proposed route could be interpreted as being insensitive to those whom worked hard to establish these businesses as a way of securing financial security for themselves and their families.
Additionally as for this notion that the “only” concern about the people mover isn’t true, as your own article in which you cite as displacement being an issue, you also cite the costs of the project being that it’s safe to assume the original estimated costs of the project is no longer valid a with the Pandemic and the global disruption of the supply chain and cost of material, coupled with inflation should be a cause for concern as we only need to look to Las Vegas and the struggles and the financial burdens they face in operating their own monorail system. Hell we don’t even need to look that far, just simply look @ the delays and cost overruns with the Metro project along Crenshaw.
Finally, as for this notion that the Mayor is defending the construction of this project is misleading because in reality many Inglewood residents and stakeholders see this deceptive fraudulent hustle that he tried to pull.
In closing I think we can agree that there is more than “one” concern or the only concern as you simply put it.
