Dear 2UrbanGirls,
I’m sending this correspondence to the Inglewood City Clerk, for public comment, to object to any future payment of legal bills on behalf of Mayor James T Butts until there is a public report made by the City Manager and/or City Council in light of allegations made by anonymous employees whom are employed by the City of Inglewood on the blog 2urbangirls and ask that these comments be recorded for Tuesday, April 6th 2021.
Based on these allegations and the severity and consistency of these allegations by multiple parties, failure by the City Council and the City Manager to independently examine these allegations and to take corrective actions will further expose the City and the taxpayer’s.
Furthermore it’s an insult to the residents and taxpayer’s to continue to pay for the Mayor’s indiscretions while he’s fundraising for re-election.
If in fact, to be quite frank, bare minimum the Mayor and Council should resign for not only exposing the City and taxpayer’s but for creating a environment so toxic where female employee’s are appealing for help in public blogs.
Marvin McCoy

Inglewood City Clerk Aisha Thompson didn’t read Mr. McCoy’s full statement during public comment. 2UrbanGirls is publishing in its entirety.

Hi Mr. McCoy,
THANK YOU for this public comment and for being a voice of reason for the City of Inglewood.
It’s DISGUSTING and a DISGRACE tax dollars are being used to pay for Mayor Jimmy Butts’ endless indiscretions, attorney fees, lawsuits and claims when homeowners have not received any financial help from the City throughout the pandemic and shutdowns.
Taxpayers need to REQUEST PUBLIC DOCUMENTS and demand itemized bills from the city clerk to see exactly how much of their tax dollars have gone to pay for Butthead’s legal fees and how much the attorneys are charging for their hourly rate.
I agree with you, Jimmy Butts, George Dotson, Alex Padilla, Eloy Morales, Dionne Faulk and Aisha Thompson should RESIGN, but since we know they won’t, voters need to speak up at the ballot box and VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE when the next election cycle rolls around.
And taxpayers should FIRE Artie Fields, Kenneth Campos, David Esparza and Jose Cortes too.
Taxpayers DESERVE and should DEMAND better representation for their tax $$$.
