2UrbanGirls is in receipt of a scathing letter from an anonymous member of the Inglewood Airport Area Chamber of Commerce (IAACC). For background, former Executive Director Erick Holly, who doubles as an Inglewood Planning Commissioner for District 1, was abruptly fired by Vice-President of the board Marc C. Little for unknown reasons.
When contacted by 2UrbanGirls Holly had “no comment” on the issues surrounding his termination. Miraculously, he is back as the chambers Deputy Director. This letter sheds some light on how he got his position back and the Mayor’s direct involvement in the manner. His Executive Assistant Melanie McDade-Dickens as listed as an Executive Board member along with Chris Roberts, of the The Robert Group/Inglewood Forward and a host of other well connected community members. Little initially scheduled a meeting with 2UrbanGirls, to discuss this issue, then abruptly cancelled. Holly could not be reached for comment either on this letter. New Vice-President of IACC, Sam Pena, who is a former City of Maywood councilmember during the city of Bell scandal, and was relieved of duties from trash hauler Republic Services as liaison to the city of Inglewood in January 2018, could not be reached for comment either.

Subject: Mayor Butts Threatened Inglewood Chamber
With a “unanimous” decision, The Inglewood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to terminate Chamber President Erick Holly for misappropriation of chamber funds, mismanagement of chamber operations and other egregious conduct detrimental to the organization. However, Inglewood Mayor James Butts has threatened the Chamber Board of Directors to hire him back.
Anonymous Inglewood Chamber Board Member
Story has been updated to reflect that Sam Pena was a member of the city of Maywood when the fiscal malfeasance emerged within the city of Bell and that he is no longer an employee of Republic Services.
