Inglewood residents are concerned that Public Works Director Luis Atwell isn’t giving residents, especially the Spanish speaking ones, proper notice about large construction projects. After an exhaustive two week search, he was named Assistant City Manager.
*** (We laughed out loud with the mention of Melanie’s relationship). *** Residents and business in the West Century area are not notified of the City’s plan to build a raised median between Inglewood and La Brea. According to the Public Works Department, this median was conceived years ago, but residents impacted were not informed then, and are not informed now by letter or any other means of the fact that north and southbound access to Inglewood neighborhoods will be blocked off. The City has not decided which streets will have access, but it will likely be streets such as Grevillea and Fir which have traffic lights. Thsee residents will have see greater traffic influx as the unblocked access will mean residents cramming into these routes to gain access to their homes. Streets such as Inglewood Avenue will also be impacted as the traffic is projected to increase. Another example of poor city planning at taxpayers’ expense and an attempt to keep information away from the public and Spanish-speakers until the last minute.
Back to McDade. Pretty sure her disappearance has a lot to do with the State’s special audit. No person there, no questions to answer. Her disappearance at a crucial time reeks of the same maneuver of Ethel Austin’s disappearance in the Barbara Ohno lawsuit. Wasn’t Austin helped to Louisiana by the Mayor when questions arose about the propriety of the financial help she received from the City?
Concerned (as always)
