We appreciate you taking the time to publish our concerns. As you have heard working in City Hall has become a hostile work environment. Mayor Butts has spies looking through our emails and we believe he has installed surveillance cameras to monitor us as well.
Wanda Brown has already alerted the public that he is monitoring where and when we swipe our badges just like he did hers. Councilman Padilla even said during the council meeting that Butts is here between 16 and 17 hours a day. WHY?
Employees continue to get the short end of the stick. We won’t be getting the raises we were promised after we took staggered raises and a $1,000 hush payment during 2016 negotiations. After taxes it totaled $663 while the state audit shows Butts’ inner circle has received close to $1 million.
Butts has put his new “friend” Shalonda Stringer in numerous positions throughout City Hall that weren’t available for us to apply for. Assistant HR Director Leonca Cahee is clueless when confronted about it.
First she was placed in sound insulation and now she has an office in the Finance Department and no one knows what her duties are. Her last job was secretary to Erick Holly at the Chamber of Commerce. We tease she’s “joined the others” he’s involved with.
How are City Manager Artie Fields and HR Director Jose Cortes creating an “equal employment opportunity” as dictated by the Federal government?
