Letter to the Editor: Harassment, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault at Metropolitan Water District

Dear 2UrbanGirls
I kindly invite you to review the Operating and Technology meetings of MWD in July, October and November, including board meetings.
Apparently there has been a pattern of harassment, abuse and retaliation amongst the women in the workplace that has come to light, but it is not getting any press attention, however from years of systemic inequity is playing out publicly during the public comment period at meetings.
11/9 OP&T meeting
- 10 comments for victims of sexual harassment, 1 for Native Americans being less than 1% of MWD staff, 3 comments pro-MWD management
- Director upset that this reached social media and their reputation took a hit, but otherwise overwhelming support for the victims. Approved a $200k budget to get an independent investigator who will report to the committee and work with the ethics officer. the current investigator is terminated.
