Dear 2UrbanGirls,
Thank you for shedding light on a conversation Black women are having amongst ourselves, that needs to be brought to the light.
There are three (3) qualified African-American women in this race for the 54th Assembly district; however, the three (3) African-American women that are elected to service our area decided to choose a man. Why is it after many years of pompously wanting qualified [Black] candidates to run for change within our communities, that our three (3) leaders decide to endorse a male candidate? Many of the community surrogates, activists, and grassroots individuals are questioning this very move as to why we the women who supported ‘them’ and assist on their ascent, why they cannot support others that want do the same.
