Under the leadership of former Superintendent Kent Taylor, Lennox School District created dental and engineering programs, a virtual learning academy and hired additional consultants and staff to beef up enrollment. Due to a multi million dollar budget deficit, current Superintendent Dr. Scott Price, is cutting programs and consulting contracts on this week’s school board agenda.
Seven contracts will be terminated on this week’s agenda and a revised 2019-2020 budget will be presented with identifiable program eliminations which will help Lennox School Distrit achieve a balanced budget, with required 3% reserves, by School Year 2021-2022.
The 201 page revised budget details how the district will eliminate programs, in three phases, to save approx. $5.5 million dollars.
The cuts will eliminate jobs for custodians and office staff, dental and engineering programs, travel, parent liaisons, public information officer and other programs as well.lennox
