Further consolidating support from key leaders across Los Angeles County, today LAX Police Chief Cecil Rhambo received a highly-coveted endorsement from Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl.
Previously elected to the California State Assembly and State Senate, Supervisor Kuehl has built up a wide-ranging record of accomplishments. While in the Assembly, Kuehl was the first woman to serve as Speaker pro tempore. She also broke ground in 2014 after being elected to the Board of Supervisors, becoming the Board’s first openly LGBTQ member.
In announcing her endorsement of Chief Cecil Rhambo for Sheriff, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl released the following statement:
“It’s become ever more apparent that we need real change at the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department – and we need it now. That’s why I am proud to endorse Chief Cecil Rhambo for L.A. County Sheriff. Chief Rhambo understands the transformational moment we’re in and the urgent need for balanced reform at the LASD. As Sheriff, I know Cecil will work with the Board of Supervisors, the Citizens Oversight Commission and the Inspector General to root out corruption, end deputy gangs and bring real and lasting reform to the department. He is the absolute best choice for Sheriff.”
