The Los Angeles Archdiocese was contacted regarding allegations being circulated through numerous Catholic churches in Los Angeles. The fliers have appeared on the windshields of cars at many of the local predominantly African-American churches in South L.A. The L.A. Archdiocese has issued the following statement.
Hello,
I checked into your inquiry and also saw the online story posted on your website. Just to clarify, the on-going litigation at the school is regarding a school personnel matter, and to our knowledge, it is not related to the flier.
As for your question regarding an investigation:
The Archdiocese takes every allegation of abuse of a minor seriously. Â The Archdiocese has no reports of sexual misconduct with minors concerning Father Michael Tang. Nevertheless, we have reported the anonymous allegations in the flier to the authorities, and as is our practice, we have initiated an internal investigation.
Anyone with information regarding abuse of a minor in the Archdiocese, should immediately contact their local police department and the Archdiocese Office of Victims Assistance Ministry at 1-800-355-2545.
Thank you,
