The Inglewood City Council will meet on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, to approve the Disposition and Development Agreement with Murphy’s Bowl LLC.
Steve Ballmer has contributed a significant amount of campaign pledges to Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts in a manner many believe will ensure approval of the project.
It was confirmed in an application to the Los Angeles Local Agency Formation Commission that eminent domain will be implemented to acquire land needed to build a proposed “people mover” that will move visitors to the Forum, SoFi Stadium and Clippers arena on the taxpayers dime.
“There will be no public dollars, no taxpayer dollars used for this project,” said Chris Meaney, Hollywood Park’s senior vice president. “The entire project has been privately capitalized and is being privately funded.”
The city plans to hold a special election in March 2021 where they will ask voters to tax themselves, to fund the project, and thus allowing private property to be taken for a private project estimated to cost $2 billion.
The report projected the arena will host 62 major events each year, including sold-out Clippers games and concerts. The events would cause “significant impacts” at 42 intersections in the hour before events and 11 intersections in the hour after events plus impacts on the 405 and 105 freeways.

“There has been a bunch of work done to create a set of tools to manage traffic,” Meany said. “Our project is really focused on making sure (traffic) is limited to the hour or two before and after an event. … It leaves the city’s transit system better than it otherwise would have been.”
It is unclear why Mayor Butts isn’t demanding that Steve Ballmer, Stan Kroenke and Dan Spanos, pay for the people mover since their projects are the direct source of our anticipated traffic woes.
In a statement, Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. said: “We know, better than any city our size in the U.S., how to properly manage and mitigate significant streams of traffic and other environmental impacts associated with sports and entertainment events.”
Butts’ plan to properly manage and mitigate streams of traffic is to TAX residents and we overwhelmingly say FUCK THAT!

Mayor Butts already gave away to billionaire owner of MSG, or the FORUM
$16 068,848 of Bond Proceeds and RDA $1,931,152 a total of $18,000,000.00. Now he wants Inglewood residents to
Tax themselves to pay for essentially the billionaires people mover project.
