If Inglewood Mayor James Butts is campaigning on integrity he needs to immediately drop two endorsements he is touting on his website and commercial ads from actor Morgan Freeman and Los Angeles Councilman Curren D. Price Jr.
Mayor Butts has never campaigned as a “family man” only on his integrity which is attached to his being a former Police Chief in Santa Monica.
As the news continues to spread that his Inglewood City Hall paramour Melanie McDade is being paid a kings ransom for being his assistant. Inglewood residents have never ever seen him publicly with his wife Judy, whom he continues to purchase property with as man and wife.
Butts has a commercial ad playing featuring disgraced actor Morgan Freeman who had to publicly apologize when eight women came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct.
Freeman was also alleged to have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with his step-granddaughter.
The other endorsement is from former Inglewood Councilman turned Los Angeles Councilman Curren Price Jr.
Price is currently embattled in persistent media articles surrounding the legal issues of his being married to two women, simultaneously. The newest Mrs. Price is Del Richardson.
Del Richardson has been the recipient of thousands of dollars of Inglewood contracts dating back to when Price was on the dais. Operating under Del Richardson & Associates, her business is located at 501 N. La Brea Ave. Her services includes relocation assistance for helping displaced residents due to the LAWA expansion in Inglewood, community engagement and outreach and serving as Ombudsman. Her firm most recently received a Metro contract to help business in Los Angeles affected by the Crenshaw/LAX expansion. The two year contract exceeded $600k. The contract made LA Times in an article titled “Campaign money has MTA board members missing votes”.
Garcetti hasn’t completely avoided fundraisers involving transportation vendors. Last month, he held a fundraiser for his non-campaign officeholder committee — an account that pays for some of his meals, travel and appearances — that was co-hosted by two Metro contractors.
One event co-host was Christine Robert of the Robert Group, which has a contract to provide public outreach for Metro’s Westside subway project. The board voted this year, with Garcetti recusing himself, to increase her firm’s contract from about $3.5 million to more than $3.7 million.
Another co-host was Del Richardson, whose firm received a $646,462 contract last year to help small businesses affected by the Crenshaw/LAX rail construction project. Richardson is Councilman Curren Price’s wife. Garcetti voted in favor of the agreement.
Price and Butts shares the same modus operandi. Using taxpayers money to keep their women happy.
