Los Cerritos News is reporting newly elected LA County District Attorney is investigating LA County Metro CEO Phil Washington and several other high profiles elected officials, including Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. Search warrants have been served in connection to whistleblower complaints, from Metro employees, that fell on deaf ears under former DA Jackie Lacey.
According to sources close to the investigation, there are several other high-profile officials under scrutiny including L. A. County Supervisors Sheila Kuehl, Hilda Solis, Kathryn Barger, former Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, L.A. City Councilman Gil Cedillo, Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr., and former DA Jackie Lacey.
The D.A., the FBI, Homeland Security, and the FDA, according to sources, have several sworn affidavits from other employees corroborating the whistleblower’s allegations.
2UrbanGirls and many Inglewood residents have filed countless complaints with the DA’s Public Integrity Office, namely Alan Yochelson, regarding corruption in Inglewood City Hall, and Yochelson rarely, if at all, acknowledged receipt of said complaints.
Complaints were filed regarding the city of Inglewood’s failure to follow it’s municipal code, related to employees running for elected office, although the city’s municipal required them to resign. Irregularities in the nomination filing period for Inglewood’s 2020 elections, to ensure Butts’ handpicked candidates, Aisha Thompson and Dionne Faulk ran unopposed, for their respective offices, was what resident’s described as his motivating factor in continuing a pattern of corruption emanating from the city’s administrative offices.
Butts publicly acknowledged being concerned if Faulk and Thompson weren’t elected.
We would be remiss if we didn’t remind our readers that former Inglewood Councilwoman Judy Dunlap filed a complaint with Lacey’s office, regarding Butts personally benefitting from the the city’s trash contract, and the DA’s office told the LA Times “they misplaced” the file.
An investigation by 2UrbanGirls and the Daily Breeze found that Inglewood Councilman Eloy Morales Jr. also benefitted from the city’s trash contract, by working for the trash hauler as a “consultant”.
Our Mayor Butts’ chickens FINALLY coming home to roost?
