Looks like Antonio Villaraigosa is a fan of Herbalife. How many of you have seen countless before/after picutes saturating your Facebook feeds and/or Instagram timeline? Does it entice you to try the products for yourself?
Herbalife is an internationally recognized brand due to their affiliation with soccer. They sponsor athletes and have MAJOR brand recognition WORLDWIDE.
As USC was just given a 99 year land lease, total control over both the Coliseum and the Sports Arena AND all the revenue generated (minus the $1 million dollar annual lease) USC could hit sports gold by incorporating soccer into the highly lucrative Downtown LA fold.
It was floated around that the Sports Arena could be torn down, if USC so desires, and build a soccer stadium there instead.
Back in 1994, the Urban Girl was fortunate enough to attend FIFA’s World Cup out in Pasadena, CA. Attending two games, third place between Sweden and Bulgaria along with the finals when Brasil defeated Italy, before a sell-out crowd, the energy was “off the chain” as the crowd hugged, partied and celebrated the close of the event.
Soccer is a GLOBAL sport as is the ever-changing ethnicities who call Los Angeles home. With the proximity to the rail, and a Latino population hovering between 50-60%, it is definitely time to stop putting all of our eggs in the NFL basket and bring another sporting team to the Downtown area.
With current City of LA mayor Eric Garcetti stating bringing the NFL isn’t a priority, will his attention now turn to Futbol? Will Villaraigosa help with negotiations?
Parking in Pasadena is unbearable and Carson is just too out-of-the-way with NO Metro rail access. Would you like to see a soccer stadium in place of the Sports Arena?
