RIVERSIDE — A federal judge has postponed the trial of former Adelanto Mayor Pro Tem Jermaine Wright for the fourth time.
Court records show U.S. District Judge Jesus G. Bernal granted Wright a continuance on June 24, less than two months before his Aug. 20 trial was set to start.
His trial will now begin on Feb. 25, 2020, in U.S. District Court in Riverside. Federal prosecutors expect the trial to last 10 days. Wright awaits trial outside of prison, absent an ankle monitoring device, court records show.
As with prior requests from Wright’s federal public defenders, the defense argued it could not analyze the volume of government evidence collected against Wright in time for trial.
