INGLEWOOD – Located in the heart of Los Angeles, the new upscale hotel LÜM was conceived by the Los Angeles developer Izak Shomof and will be operated by Sonder Holdings Inc. The Shomof Group has announced that it will lead the charge on the imminent development of the property’s three-story restaurant space, which it aims to open in January 2021 in advance of Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles.
The highly-anticipated hotel, LÜM, underwent a complete remodel by Shomof Group to breathe new life into its 1960’s bones. Featuring an eclectic Mexican-Modernism design, the lobby showcases modern wood paneling, plush seating, marble accents, cultural art & furnishings, and lush tropical greenery to create a relaxing zen-style environment from the moment guests enter the hotel. Several common areas are flanked with floor to ceiling warehouse-style windows offering unparalleled light and views of the city.
The property, which is centrally located at 3900 West Century Boulevard, directly adjacent to Sofi Stadium, Hollywood Park Casino, The Forum venue, and under-construction Intuit Dome, also features a central 80ft pool, rooftop observation deck overlooking Sofi Stadium, pool-level bar, and an on-site fitness center, sauna, and steam room which are available to all guests.
In lieu of enlisting a restaurant partner, The Shomof Group, which has an impressive track record for converting historic buildings throughout Southern California, will now be tackling the development of the three-story on site restaurant which includes another rooftop deck and second story event space. The vision for the sports-themed restaurant concept, to be called ‘LÜM Sports Bar,’ will include a decor of vintage motorcycles and sports memorabilia in a plush lounge-style setting and will feature a counter service model to provide convenience for guests visiting before and after nearby events.
The restaurant will accommodate all day parts and the ground level will feature a large full service bar with plenty of TVs for game day viewing. The various spaces will also be available for private parties and large event buyouts, such as Superbowl, VIP tailgates, weddings, and more.
“When it came to the design, I was inspired by the peaceful, zen culture of traveling to tropical locales around the world, and I wanted to deliver a similarly idyllic environment at LÜM Hotel,” said Jimmy Shomof, Project Manager at Lum Hotel. “The central location to sports and concert venues initially drew the Shomof Group to this project, and with LÜM and the onsite restaurant we are developing, the property has the unique opportunity of becoming a central hub and destination for Rams, Chargers, and Clippers fans, before and after games, and concert-goers headed to the Forum. ”
