  1. Compton voted against not one but two marijuana business initiatives so the industry is fully banned in this city. That being said, the offensive to bring marijuana to this city compromised many politicians, community leaders and our present administration. A recentlawsuit allegation made by an illegal marijuana shop was closed by our current City Manager and former City Attorney claims he was running a shakedown operation and speaks to the on-going allegations of corruption and compromise, up to and incuding allegations our Mayor Aja Brown and her husband Van Brown are running illegal shops in defiance of our city charter and stated laws. Add to this, the “sad to say” traditional illegal street activity has not been halted as the city has failed miserably to close and sustain the closure of all illegal marijuana shops. My point is I hope by “criminality” the study not only looks at the people but the impact of the people on all aspects of criminal activity.
