Compton City Manager Craig Cornwell shared with the mayor and city Councilmembers today that there is concern that an employee in the city’s water department was exposed to the deadly COVID-19 virus.
The employee confirmed the employees grandmother was confirmed to have the virus. The Los Angeles County Department of Health has released an updated count of confirmed cases within LA County and Compton has a total of five confirmed cases.
This comes at a time when the city initially decided to shut down City Hall to the public then decided on March 19th to reopen to the general public. Cornwell has also sent out a directive today which will allow certain city employees to telecommute from home if they meet certain requirements.
2UrbanGirls has learned through multiple city hall insiders that the employees test came back positive.
