  1. If the charter review committee was there in the best interest of compton residents, they would have definitely included a requirement for RANDOM DRUG TESTING for all city officials. Maybe that way we the people can start cleaning up this dump we are living in. These compton city officials cannot compare themselves and their accomplishments to those of ANY nearby city. They are clowns and the biggest political joke in California. Don’t vote to give them NOTHING!! We voted and told them NO in the last election. The response this time will be HELL NO !! A bunch of sorry asses !!!

  2. People of Compton,
The final report is a joke and self serving for the benefit of the corrupt elected officials. Not one amendment is in the best interest of taxpayers nor the City of Compton. Forget about enhancing the 100k residents quality of life.
    YOU KNOW WHY?

Because they are not from Compton nor do they love ?Compton. STRAIGHT PIMPING COMPTON BRAND.

How many times have the State of California Controller Auditor Report findings explicitly stated that the budget spending, salaries, car allowance and phone is unheard of and not allowed in a PART TIME GOVT that is CITY MGMT RAN in any other CHARTER CITIES in S California.

Additionally, the LA District Attorney Office of Public Integrity Unit said the same and threatened prosecution. But Aja and crew habitually wants to point the finger at corruption when Aja has stole and misappropriated more monies than any former administration under Tucker, Moore, Bradley and etc which turned out to be a facade right under our nose ?with Aja’s lying A– PR machine.

The citizens of Compton do not want any type of salary increase, no more stipends for car and cell for a PART TIME GOVT that is CITY MGMT RAN by the City Manager, one year residency requirements with strict construction of verification of residency, term limits, election dates will remain status quo until new elected who are trustworthy in place, rehab of the selection of commissions and boards. The City will continue with weekly council meetings and if you can’t do that don’t serve at the pleasure of the people of Compton.

You will not destroy and steal CUSD dry like you have with the City with your hand picked Yes people. You are the most inept, unethical, lying A– leadership THIS CITY has seen since its inception.

VOTERS OF COMPTON, VOTE NO ON ANY & ALL ITEMS REGARDING THE CHARTER.

I tried to inform all that the selection process of this charter amendment committee was illegal ?and a set up for Aja and crew hand ✋ picked Yes people. It is not reflective of the true people of Compton and or long term residents with substantive attributes.

Better yet, I say people of Compton, let’s start a RECALL of any and all elected officials while we are on lockdown, meaning Aja, every council person, Alita, Damon and Doug. NOW
    Craig gotta GO TOO!

Get the Heck out of here with your proposed amendments. See ? you at recall time, election time, and or in federal court.

    1. You should’ve added that Measure P be amended to have a sunset clause? CiTY Mgmt is using that bucket of cash for everything!! Not the shit that all thise silly ass people thinking, i got my potholes fixed. Its 3 years later. Are all the streets done. Piecemeal shit to make them look good. LOOK AT THE BUDGET WORKSHOPS.. Always including nonessential shit the people didnt want.

  3. This is really bad. More money for useless council members. All they do is collect a check. They don’t care about anything but money. Most of Compton schools are just babysitting locations. I have recording of teacher asleep in class and 70 plus students for one PE class. Only In America? A complaint was issued. Answer was not enough money. But no answer for the sleeping teacher. No money for teachers but the council members want more. Compton schools are worst then 20 years ago when I attended. How sad. We are better of home schooling.

  4. Before asking for an increase in council members’ salaries, review of the current salaries vs. the number of hours per month the members are in session should be considered.

  5. I believe that we need to increase are council members salaries. Simply because to keep and attract good council people we must pay them a decent salary, we all know you get what you pay for.

  6. The citizens who were participating in the ZOOM meetings will be very surprised. The only item we supported was Term Limits. We made many recommendations that were ignored. We asked for language that would require “verification of residence” when filing nomination papers. We were not in support of even year elections only, or making elections consistent with County elections. And, we did not support $1000 per month for sowing up to two meetings a month, on top of all the other perks and benefits these less than part-time elected officials receive. See you at the polls in November.

    1. City employee here.
If I may ask, why are you surprised at this farce of a charter review? Because you were on it?.. Can we find out who the final approvers who did the ignoring..

The review should have gone back to basics about what Compton wants, not in comparing it to how other cities carry out their business.

Here is what I think should’ve been discussed:
      1. term limits – 2 terms max (8 years total) for elected positions. You can’t be 2 terms City Clerk, then 2 terms councilmember, then 2 terms mayor, etc. Eight years max as an elected official in total FOREVER.

      2. residency: you NEED to live in Compton for 1 year. Proof: Trash fill, water bill, phone bill, cable bill, internet bill, drivers license, credit card bill, etc… Need 3-4 items listed.

      3. Elected official aren’t paid the same: City Attorney, Treasurer, Clerk are paid in the hundred thousand ranges, and council members in comparison a pittance. Give councilmembers $1500. This is chump change. However,

      4. Remove all stipends from ALL elected officials (gas – guessing $300, phone-guessing $300, etc). Refill your gas at City facility or provide reimbursement form. City issued phone will be provided, no private phone paid by city stipend. You want your own, then you pay.
Sidenote: Do not fall for the bullshit that you need to pay people more money to attract good people. If the salary was a million bucks, you seriously think only people with 8 PHDs lining up only. Shit, you would see everyone and their grandma tryin to get elected.

Here’s an FYI for the asses who don’t pay attention to budgets:
Compton City Manager – 220K+ salary
Compton Assistant City Manager – 180K+ salary
Compton Assistant City Manager – 180K+salary
$580,000 per year NOW, so elected councilmembers salary. Not a sweat

  8. This is not the appropriate time to ask for salary increase. Focus in on city improvement and financial stability

  9. I’m a Compton resident. I’m for term limits for council members. I’m not in favor of any salary raise for the council members.
