Senior Citizen Center. Residents came forward to inquire on a story printed in the Morningside Park Chronicle regarding the possible sale of the site of the Senior Center. Mayor Butts informed the audience that the property is in fact, not up for sale.
YMCA. Residents came forward to inquire on efforts to bring a YMCA back to the City of Inglewood. Those who spoke feel the Teen Center in the Library is not sufficient of a space to host Inglewood’s teens.
ADA requirements. An elderly senior citizen, aided by a walker, commented on the lack of seating for handicapped residents.
Another church? The vacant property at the intersection of Manchester Blvd and 5th Ave have District 1 residents not happy about a church buying the property. Concerns center around where will the parishioners park.
Dr. Don Brann. Inglewood Unified School District advisory board member Carliss Richards-McGee recently held a reception for current IUSD state administrator Dr. Don Brann at the community room in city hall.
Advisory board member Carol Raines-Brown has invited Dr. Brann to be the guest speaker at her church, Academy, for the 13th Annual “Priority Check” Back to School Drive and Prayer Luncheon 10/19 from 9-2p. The public is encouraged to attend.
Town hall Meetings. Councilman Alex Padilla will host his townhall at City Hall this Saturday, October 19th from 10-12noon. Councilman George Dotson will host his first townhall at First Church of God on November 2nd from 11-1pm. The public is encouraged to attend.
