President Joe Biden has been accused of “not doing enough” for Black voters, and has caught their ire with a proposed ban on flavored tobacco products, which includes Swisher Sweets, and Backwoods. These products are used to smoke their weed, not the tobacco itself.
With the nation shifting to legalization of weed, and safe injection sites for heroin users, what since does it make to ban flavored tobacco? How will this hurt retailers and their respective cities economies?
If you walk into any neighborhood MedMen, you are taxed 15% (excise) and 10% (local cannabis). Shouldn’t tobacco products be taxed at a higher rate as opposed to an outright ban?
The Biden administration is expected to announce a proposed ban on menthol-flavored cigarettes this week.🚬— My Mixtapez (@mymixtapez) April 28, 2021
This would prevent the selling of flavored blunts like Swisher Sweets, Backwoods, and King Palm. pic.twitter.com/vkaUjbZ1BO
