Gabrielle (they/them) currently resides on Tongva, Kizh, and Chumash land, also known as Los Angeles. Gabrielle is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and an aspiring music connoisseur. They have an MFA in Creative Writing. Their poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and Best New Poets. Previously, they were the Managing Editor for TransLash News and Narrative, a trans storytelling platform. They were a graduate fellow with The Oxford American Magazine, Editor in Chief of Linden Avenue Literary Journal, andManaging Editor at The Tenth Magazine, an independent Black queer media organization. Gabrielle has the pleasure of serving on the LA Chapter Board of the The Association of LGBTQ Journalists.

INGLEWOOD – Crenshaw Dairy Mart, an abolitionist art collective, held its inaugural film festival “uplift[ing] and prioritiz[ing] underrepresented, LA-based filmmakers of color” at the Miracle Theatre in historic downtown Inglewood on Feb. 17. The theme of the festival was “For the Love Of,” with five specific categories that center community values of “growth, love, resilience, and transformation narratives.” Nineteen films were screened by genre block. Featured filmmakers offered breathing room between blocks by answering short questions about their processes and inspirations.
