A dark-colored SUV crashed into the center divider of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Tustin and burst into flames, killing at least one person inside and sending debris flying across both sides of the freeway. LOS ANGELES – More than 100 firefighters from 16 fire companies put out a major emergency blaze at a large, metal-clad commercial building early Monday morning. SANTA ANA – A man was fatally wounded in a residential area of Santa Ana, authorities said Sunday. Officers dispatched at 8:50 p.m. Saturday to 2020 S. Wood St., in response to a shooting call, located the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to a Santa Ana Police Department watch commander. LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was fatally struck on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway Saturday in El Monte. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the eastbound freeway and the Peck Road on-ramp at 4:12 a.m. where they learned the victim had been fatally struck by a black Hyundai, according to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia. The pedestrian, whose name, age and gender were not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
