LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were in custody Sunday in the stabbing death of a 56-year-old man in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said. Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section did not know what charges the duo might be facing, adding that the investigation was still ongoing. MISSION HILLS, Calif. – Two people were rushed to a hospital from a multi-vehicle rollover crash Sunday on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Mission Hills, authorities said. Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 1:41 a.m. to the southbound freeway at Devonshire Street and took two people to a hospital, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The conditions of the injured people were not immediately known. A source at the scene said a white SUV landed on its roof and that bystanders rescued a man and woman from inside that vehicle.

LOS ANGELES – Hackers have released some data stolen in a cyberattack against the Los Angeles Unified School District, according to a newspaper report Sunday. The data were released Saturday — two days before a deadline previously given by the hackers — in an apparent response to LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho’s stated refusal to pay ransom to an international hacking syndicate, the Los Angeles Times reported.
