LA COUNTY – More than 400,000 ballots still remain to be counted from Tuesday’s primary election in Los Angeles County, according to an estimate released today by the county Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office. The office estimated that 400,000 vote-by-mail ballots still need to be processed, along with 680 conditional voter-registration ballots, 105 provisional ballots and 300 other miscellaneous ballots. CARSON – Authorities Wednesday sought the public’s help to identify a man who was brought to a hospital after he was found in Carson. The man was found on May 31 by paramedics near train tracks in the area of East Sepulveda Boulevard and South Alameda Street, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. BALDWIN PARK – Authorities Wednesday identified a 6-year-old boy who was killed along with his mother in a shooting in Baldwin Park, as detectives continued their investigation into the killings. The shooting was reported at 9:22 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Merced Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Baldwin Park police in the investigation. AZUSA – Authorities Tuesday publicly identified the 18-year-old man who was shot to death while spray painting graffiti in Azusa. The shooting was reported at about 3:25 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of South Noble Place, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Paramedics rushed Andrew Hidalgo of Azusa to a hospital, where he died on Friday. Two suspects were arrested in relation to the shooting, but no further information was immediately available. HAWTHORNE – A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday by a train operating on the Metro C (Green) Line, authorities said. The collision occurred around 4 a.m. about a half mile east of the Hawthorne Station, which is in the 4400 block of West 111th Street, according to the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau and Metro. Information on the identity of the fatally injured person was not immediately available. Metro arranged for shuttle buses between the Hawthorne and Crenshaw stations to accommodate rail passengers while an investigation was conducted.

Erik Morales was shot about 9:25 p.m. Sunday in the 3200 block of Minnesota Avenue, said Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
