LOS ANGELES – A worker was struck and killed Wednesday by a construction train at the future site of the Wilshire/La Brea Station on Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project. COMPTON – County authorities identified a man Thursday who was shot and killed in Compton. The shooting victim was Markel Parker, 24, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. TORRANCE- A man was fatally shot Wednesday outside a bar in Torrance, and his alleged killer was arrested, police said. The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. outside the Hi N Dry bar at 182nd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard, said Torrance police Sgt. Mark Ponegalek. The shooting was reported about 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of South Temple Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Lizette Falcon.
