LOS ANGELES – A woman was killed Tuesday evening in a drive-by shooting in El Sereno. Officers were called at approximately 10:30 p.m. to 5333 Hyde St. where they found a woman estimated to be between 35-40 years old suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison. Witnesses told police a four-door sedan with tinted windows drove up to the woman and someone inside the sedan fired several shots indiscriminately. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no suspect information.

CLAREMONT – Authorities Monday seized hundreds of marijuana plants being grown illegally in a Claremont residence, which was red-tagged by the city, police said. PALMDALE – One person was killed and four others were injured when two vehicles crashed head-on in Palmdale Sunday. The crash at 50th Street East, just north of Avenue N, occurred at about 11:25 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported, adding that the fatality injured person was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics dispatched to the location at 11:23 a.m. rushed four people to a hospital, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. Their conditions were not immediately known. LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped to 6.4% in February, down from a revised 6.9% in January, according to figures released Friday by the state Employment Development Department. The 6.4% rate was also down from the 10.7% rate in February 2021.
