LANCASTER – A man who was shot and killed in Lancaster was identified by county authorities Tuesday. The victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as 43-year-old Thayron Paxton. LOS ANGELES – A 13-year-old girl who was critically wounded in a South Los Angeles shooting has died in a hospital, authorities said Monday. The shooting occurred at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 713 E. 108th St., according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman. The nearest cross street is Stanford Avenue. The girl was taken by ambulance to a hospital where she was listed as critical but stable, he said. She died from her wound Sunday, the spokesman said. PASADENA – A person was killed Sunday morning when a pickup truck rear-ended a big rig and caught fire on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena, authorities said. The crash occurred at 4:15 a.m. on the westbound freeway, near the Fair Oaks Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
