The Inglewood taxpayers continue to foot the bill for fraud allegations related to Mayor James Butts and the proposed Clippers arena. It is unclear why the city council continues to authorize the spending of general fund reserves, while simultaneously increasing fees for water, trash and business taxes related to rental property. Bernal granted Wright a continuance on June 24, less than two months before his Aug. 20 trial was set to start. His trial will now begin on Feb. 25, 2020, in U.S. District Court in Riverside. Compton City Attorney Damon Brown is proposing an ordinance that will ban e-cigarettes in the city of Compton. Brown gave an oral presentation at this week’s city council meeting declaring he will return with an ordinance for the councils approval.
