INGLEWOOD – Inglewood City Clerk Aisha Thompson provided the public inaccurate voting information during the Oct. 18 Town Hall for Councilwoman Dionne Faulk. The City Clerk’s primary duty is conducting Inglewood elections, which the office no longer does due to consolidating with the County leading residents to ponder whether they should continue to keep the position elected rather than appointed. Los Angeles Police officers responded to 98th and Western around 9:00 p.m. to reports of a traffic collision. According to friends at the scene, the victim is an 18-year-old woman from North Carolina who was in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving was struck and killed by a driver whom fled the scene. TORRANCE – A man was shot to death Tuesday in the Torrance area, and an investigation was underway. The shooting was reported at about 10:15 a.m. in the 23100 block of South Mariposa Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Information was not immediately available on the identity of the wounded man, who died at the scene. LOS ANGELES – Authorities have identified the man fatally shot on a Los Angeles freeway on Nov. 19. California Highway Patrol responded to calls of a man walking in the lanes of the westbound 105 freeway around 3:16 p.m. A driver captured a struggle between the officer and man after which ended with multiple shots being fired at the suspect after he is alleged to have used a stun gun on the officer.
