COMPTON – Compton Unified School District Board Trustee Dr. Ayanna Davis continues receiving support from high-profile elected officials in her quest to succeed Asm. Mike Gipson to represent Assembly District 65.
Dr. Davis began the new year by announcing the support of California Controller Malia Cohen – the first Black woman to serve in that role.
“I’m proud to endorse Ayanna Davis because she has the vision and resolve we need to build an economy that works for all of us. From expanding pathways to good-paying jobs to fighting for fair wages, Ayanna is committed to advancing economic equality for working families across our state.”
The momentum continued with Davis drawing the support of Assemblyman Avelino Valencia, who currently represents areas of Orange County including the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, and Orange.
“I am proud to endorse Ayanna Davis for State Assembly. Her experience in public service, as a lifelong educator, and as a pragmatic leader makes her well prepared to serve. I know Ayanna will be an effective voice for the people of California’s 65th Assembly District.”
Her support stretches across the entire state of California as well as the full support of her colleagues on the Compton Unified school board.
