INGLEWOOD – The City of Inglewood will hold the Inglewood HUD CDBG public hearing on Dec. 16. The purpose is to receive and consider comments on the FY 2024-2025 Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER). This is for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025.
The CAPER details how Inglewood is spending federal funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. These funds are used for Section 8 vouchers and home improvement repairs. They also address the homeless population through initiatives discussed at the Inglewood HUD CDBG public hearing.
According to the draft report, “The City has reached out to over twenty-three (23) individuals experiencing homelessness. It has enrolled eleven (11) clients in the homeless services system, referred six (6) individuals to interim housing, and helped thirty (30) persons enter interim housing.”

On any given day, as recently as the week of Dec. 1, the homeless continue to find refuge by sleeping in front of abandoned storefronts along Market Street. They also find refuge at a local church at the intersection of Crenshaw Blvd. and Manchester Ave. The City provides NO outreach after normal business hours.
