Dr. Ayanna Davis Expands Coalition of Prominent State Leaders Behind Her Campaign for State Assembly
COMPTON — Continuing to build momentum behind her bid to represent Assembly District 65, today Compton School Boardmember Dr. Ayanna Davis announced the endorsement of California State Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria.
Representing Assembly District 27, Assemblymember Soria currently serves as Chair of the Agriculture Committee. Prior to her service in the Legislature, Soria served on the Fresno City Council and worked as an educator teaching at Fresno City College. released the following statement:

Assemblymember Soria
Dr. Davis was elected to the Compton Unified School District in 2022, and serves as Vice President and Legislative Representative of its Board of Trustees. Her experience in public education spans decades, as Davis also served the Watts community for 21 years as both a teacher and principal. Drawing upon her upbringing in a union household, Ayanna also serves as Vice President of the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles Union (AALA).
Davis attended the University of Southern California and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. She earned a Master of Arts in Education Administration from California State University at Dominguez Hills and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration with a focus on Leadership and Policy Studies from California State University at Northridge. Lastly, Davis earned a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education.
