SOUTH GATE – A second man has been fatally shot in the city of South Gate within hours of each other.
Homicide detectives responded around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of Southern Avenue. They were responding to reports of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but no motive or suspect description was immediately available.
It was the second fatal shooting in South Gate being investigated Wednesday. Deputies were called to the 3700 block of Tweedy Boulevard and South Carlos Avenue at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday. This location was a short distance away from the Southern Avenue death, where they found the victim, LASD homicide Lt. Daniel Vizcarra said.
That man was also pronounced dead at the scene.
