A woman who was found dead in the trunk of a car at a tow yard in South Los Angeles remains unidentified nearly two months after her death.
The woman’s body was discovered at Al’s Towing in the 1900 block of Gage Ave. on September 9 after her family reported her missing.
The victim has not been publicly identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“This decedent will not be added to the unidentified person search on our website because she has a presumed name. Once she is identified and her family notified, then, she will be found on our website under case information,” said the Medical Examiner’s office’s public information officer.
Sandra Romo Diaz, of Los Angeles, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sept. 16 and is being held in the County jail with a $2 million bail, according to booking records on the Sheriff department’s website.
Video from local news reports showed tents set up over a Honda sedan parked in the tow yard. It appeared the back of the car had been burned.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the car had been towed to the lot from the 6800 block of South Flower Street, records show.
