2 Urban Girls,
I feel a DRAMATIC SHIFT is happening in Inglewood by way of actual CITIZEN-LED petitions that could uproot the Inglewood City Council in the November 2026 election.
First I want to thank you for clarifying that Inglewood voters will go to the polls in June AND November and these petitions that have circulated could present MAJOR problems for Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. We also thank Mr. McCoy for his coverage on the proposed water bill increases.

As you have pointed out on your news site, Inglewood residents are quietly and effectively fighting back against Inglewood City Hall and, by default, the Inglewood City Council.
If we’re counting, and based on the staff reports you have posted, here’s my observation.
Inglewood residents gathered 3,000 petition signatures against the Hollywood Park Casino proposed digital billboards.
We are very happy to hear this [digital billboard] proposal hearing has been removed from the agenda and we would still like to take the opportunity to submit these signatures that we gathered from around the neighborhood. We gathered 1,599 signatures plus the 1,384 that we submitted previously so in the record we are submitting 2,983.”
Inglewood casino pulls digital billboard application after community uproar
Inglewood residents gathered over 6,000 petition signatures against the Inglewood City Council overriding voters’ approval of fireworks sales, on a previous Inglewood election ballot, before Mayor Butts came to town.
Its no wonder we are stuck paying for two elections within months of each other which is not fiscally prudent on our leadership to do so, but it does indicate Mayor Butts is rightfully concerned about a citizens revolt against his reign over the City.
If all of those people who are VERIFIED INGLEWOOD VOTERS got together and voted AGAINST the mayor, the City would have a new mayor and by default a new Inglewood City Council. The mayor got a little more than 14,000 votes in the 2022 election and is teetering on this being his last term in office. You and your readers can do the math.
Again, my neighbors and I thank you for your ongoing coverage and commitment to keep residents informed.
Registered Inglewood voter!
