LANCASTER – A 19-year-old man shot to death during a Halloween party at a vacant business building in Lancaster was identified by county authorities Monday.
The shooting took place at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday outside a building in the 100 block of West Avenue I at Division Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies dispatched to the scene located a 19-year-old man, identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Tevon Wade of Rosamond, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Investigators learned that the shooting stemmed from a fight that took place at a Halloween party in a business building in the area,” according to a sheriff’s department statement. “While outside the building, the victim was shot by an unknown suspect. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.”
