I am aware of the criminal charges filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office against former Baldwin Park Police Officer Andres Villalobos. These allegations are deeply troubling and represent a significant breach of trust placed in law enforcement officers by their colleagues and the community.
The Baldwin Park Police Department is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct. When allegations of misconduct or criminal activity arise involving members of our Department, we take them seriously and ensure they are thoroughly investigated. No officer is above the law, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to holding our personnel accountable when the evidence demonstrates they have violated that trust.
Our Department has cooperated fully with the investigation conducted by the District Attorney’s Office and will continue to do so throughout the legal process. While Andres Villalobos is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, the nature of these criminal allegations required the Department to take appropriate administrative actions pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
The actions alleged in this case do not reflect the values, dedication or professionalism demonstrated by the hardworking men and women of the Baldwin Park Police Department who serve our community with honor and integrity every day. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the public’s trust.
