LOS ANGELES – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent Monday to $4.716 after four consecutive decreases totaling 1.4 cents.
The average price is 1.1 cents less than one week ago but nine-tenths of a cent more than one month ago and 11.5 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has decreased $1.777 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022, including one-tenth of a cent Wednesday.
The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $4.686, one day after an increase of one-tenth of a cent ended a three-day streak of decreases totaling 2.2 cents. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago and six- tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but 15.2 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.772 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The run of decreases to the national average price was extended to 11 in 12 days, but barely, as it dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.082. The average price has dropped 7.8 cents over the past 12 days, including six-tenths of a cent Sunday.
The run began with four consecutive decreases. The national average price was unchanged last Monday then resumed dropping Tuesday.
The national average price is 5.1 cents less than one week ago, 9.7 cents lower than one month ago and 11.9 cents below what it was one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.934 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
