LOS ANGELES – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County declined three-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.631.
The average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago and 9.1 cents less than one month ago, but 8.1 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has decreased $1.862 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also declined three-tenths of a cent, to $4.579, its 12th decrease in the last 13 days. The Orange County average price is 6.3 cents less than one week ago and 11.4 cents less than one month ago, but 11.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.879 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service and the California Energy Commission reported on Wednesday that California refinery production and gasoline inventory have risen in the past week, helping to put downward pressure on gas prices,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement last week.
The national average price fell six-tenths of a cent to $3.053. It is 1.7 cents more than one week ago, but 9.5 cents less than one month ago and 8.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.963 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
