The City continues to disenfranchise Residents by habitually denying legitimate claims while paying each attorney firm more and more. Clearly the nuisance factor of filing a lawsuit against an already hostile, deliberately frustrating and apparently noncaring Administration is in play.
This Administration led by Mayor James T. Butts Jr. has been costing residents dearly. We are already taxed annually for streets, lights, sidewalks, trees, are paying for school bonds to fix schools – yet schools are closing and property sold off, the Vendor/Contractor bidding and awards process is suspect, many do poor work and damage public and residential surroundings.
And then there are the disingenuous investigations (if they even happen), non-transparency and lack of oversight, and remember ALL the very avoidable lawsuits that Mayor Butts, himself, has caused and/or ill-advisedly initiated.
Where has our money REALLY been going? Take a look at who is really representing Residents in their district. If this Administration took care of the basics first, Residents wouldn’t be forced to file claims for the legitimate damages caused by the City, its Vendors and dangerous situations. The City makes it very difficult to get anything fixed and seems to rely on Residents continually coming out of pocket to fix the City’s mistakes. They can keep taxing us and using our money to pay expensive attorneys to keep us from getting our just due.
That’s just not right.
