LOS ANGELES – Police Wednesday released images of two vehicles involved in a hit-and-run crash on the south side of downtown Los Angeles that left a pedestrian critically injured.

The crash was reported at about 5:45 a.m. on Oct. 5 at the intersection of Central Avenue and 14th Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The woman was crossing the street at the intersection when she was struck by a dark-colored 2018-2025 Ford Explorer headed south on Central.
“The impact caused the pedestrian to be projected in a southwesterly direction, where she collided with the roadway,” according to a police statement. “While on the ground, she was hit a second time by a blue compact SUV, possibly a 2007-2011 Honda CR-V.”
Neither driver stopped as required and instead both continued south on Central Avenue, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the woman to a hospital, where she was treated for life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about the crash or either driver was urged to contact the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division to speak with Officer Balderas at the Collision Investigation Follow-Up Unit at 213-833-3713. He can also be reached by emailing [email protected].
Calls can also be placed to the Central Traffic Division watch commander at 213-833-3746 and anonymous tips can be submitted through L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).
